DEI at Storj Labs

The purpose of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council is to continue improving inclusiveness, and ensuring that opportunity, career advancement, wage equity, and access is available to all. The DEI Council is also responsible for driving a culture of mutual respect and intersectional equality for team members of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Black Lives Matter

We believe black lives matter, and tech startups are one of the major vehicles for new wealth generation and advancement. We’re working to do our part to make sure that communities of color have an equal opportunity to participate.

There’s More Work to Do

We know there’s more work to be done before we can have meaningful change. At Storj Labs, our Hiring Practices Guide help us take the time to discover and minimize bias in our processes. We hold regular diversity training and quarterly meetings to reflect and align on our values as a company.

Our Values

We believe that security and privacy are human rights. Our teams and the technology we build are rooted in these ideals.

We inspire, execute, and celebrate as one team dedicated to trust, inclusion, and accountability.

We are committed to the free and open sharing of software, information, knowledge and ideas to better the human condition.

Having the courage to do the right thing, even when it isn’t easy, we resolve to treat others ethically, and with compassion.

We empower our users to control their data, our teammates to do great work, and our community to build economic value.

We think differently, act differently, and always look to make a difference.

The Principles We Practice

Diversity is the range of human differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values system, national origin, and political beliefs.

Equity is the fair and impartial treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people. Equity in action is working to remove barriers that may impede the participation of individuals who have been underrepresented in our industry.

Inclusion is involvement and empowerment, where the inherent worth and dignity of all people are recognized. An inclusive company promotes and sustains a sense of belonging; it values and practices respect for the talents, beliefs, backgrounds, and ways of living of its people.
