Production Cloud is the demo everyone’s still talking about.

Production Cloud was recognized with a Best of Show Award at IBC 2025, highlighting its breakthrough approach to distributed media workflows. And if you didn’t catch Storj live at IBC or NAB New York, here’s your chance to see what got so many people talking.

The All Things Techie Podcast stopped by our booth at IBC 2025 for a hands-on look at Storj Production Cloud — and the episode has already drawn more than 2,500 views on YouTube.

Filmed live in Amsterdam, it captures the "lightbulb moment" when people first see how Production Cloud is fundamentally different — and better — than traditional cloud workflows. It shows creative teams how they can ingest, edit, and deliver content globally without downloads, replication, or regional limits.

A look into the distributed future.

During the demo, Storj team members Jordan and Dao walked All Things Techie host Justin Dawson through a complete end-to-end workflow — from on-set ingest to editorial to delivery — all running on the Storj distributed cloud.

They used Beam Transfer, a high-speed large-file transfer app built on the Production Cloud platform, to move files into globally distributed Object Storage — the same global, high-performance layer that underpins every workflow on Production Cloud.

From there, Object Mount provided direct, file-based access to that same Object Storage, allowing editors to work with media as if it were on a local drive. Together, these apps demoinstrated real-world collaboration between Atlanta, Ireland, and Frankfurt — all over standard convention Wi-Fi.

Editors could instantly play, scrub, and render footage directly from the cloud with no local downloads. When the cut was done, it automatically appeared in the same shared bucket for collaborators around the world — proof that Production Cloud’s “upload once, work anywhere” promise is more than marketing.

From IBC debut to growing adoption.

Since its launch, Storj Production Cloud has expanded to include three tiers of distributed storage and early-access cloud compute for media, bringing every stage of post-production — Object Storage, Object Mount, and compute — into one unified distributed platform.

“We now have the storage, compute, and access solutions to give creative teams the speed, scale, and flexibility to work without limits,” said Colby Winegar, CEO of Storj.

Post-production houses, studios, and creative teams that once relied on costly replication or complex file movement are now working directly from a single global namespace, with consistent performance and predictable economics.

Why check it out now.

Because this demo makes it click. Once you see how distributed cloud actually performs, it’s undeniable — a clear break from the limits of centralized infrastructure and all the talk about what a media cloud “should” be — because it’s already here with Production Cloud.
