In the Standard tier, objects have a minimum storage retention period of 30 days. If you delete an object before 30 days, the remaining GB-month is charged as an early deletion fee at the same rate. Customers using Object Mount with Storj Object Storage will be exempt from this charge.
Yes. Effective July 1st, 2026, the minimum monthly fee for Storj Object Storage accounts increases from $5 to $50. The minimum fee is not a usage credit. It is a floor on your monthly invoice. If your usage in a given month is less than $50, you are charged $50. You do not receive additional storage or egress in exchange for the difference. The minimum fee applies as follows:

Yes. Object Mount supports AWS, GCP, and other S3-compatible backends.
Each paid Teams tier license ($29/month) includes 500 GB of Storj Object Storage. That storage counts toward your metered usage. If your total monthly Storj storage usage is below $50, the $50 minimum monthly fee applies. The 500 GB is available to use as long as your account is active and in good standing. Any S3 tier seats ($39/month) do not include Storj storage, and the $50 Storj storage minimum does not apply to that tier.
Yes. To use Object Mount with Storj Object Storage, your account must remain active and meet the $50 monthly minimum. If your total Storj usage is below $50 in a given month, the minimum fee applies. Your 500 GB of included storage remains available as long as your account is active and in good standing. Your Object Mount Licenses are available once your storage usage exceeds $50.
When an object is stored on the Storj network, infrastructure costs begin the moment it's written. Minimum retention fees ensure that storage is billed for at least 30 days regardless of when an object is deleted. If you delete an object on day 3, you are billed for the remaining 27 days.
No. Object Mount is excluded from Storj's standard 30-day minimum retention fees. This is reflected in the $29/month license pricing.
Object Mount is designed for filesystem-style workloads that don't map cleanly to object storage retention models. The $29/month license covers that cost structure so you don't have to manage it.
Object Mount supports high-churn workloads. For temp files and scratch space, we recommend keeping those on a local disk and using Object Mount for data that persists.
Yes. Accounts with usage patterns that generate disproportionate infrastructure load may be flagged for review. We reserve the right to apply minimum retention fees or, if necessary, restrict or discontinue service under our acceptable use policy.
Access to Object Mount plus 0.5TB of included storage per month. This is additive to any other storage on your account. Standard rates apply above 0.5TB.

Object Mount is built for workflows that require direct file access to cloud storage.
Object Mount provides POSIX access to object storage without modifying your files or requiring a gateway. It mounts directly to your existing buckets, so data accessed through Object Mount can still be accessed via the S3 API with other tools. There is no copying or importing required. Existing buckets can be mounted immediately without any data migration.
