DriveX is a project management tool for securing and keeping track of large files. Over the years the DriveX infrastructure has taken advantage of new technologies to improve its services. Advantages of a Decentralized Network
Nikola Ivanov, the CEO and founder of DriveX, started exploring Web3 and the benefits of distributed networks. DriveX faced a variety of problems, including how to take the complexity out of delivering top-notch security. Storj provides a zero-trust infrastructure with end-to-end encryption, granular object file level access controls, and no single point of failure. It uses Reed Solomon erasure coding to automatically split each object file into 80 or more encrypted pieces across 15,000 geographically diverse nodes and ISPs across the globe. In turn, the reconstruction of an encrypted file only requires 29 of those 80 pieces. The methodology that Storj uses to split, distribute, and reconstruct object files enables it to achieve enterprise-grade data availability, unrivaled resiliency, and unmatched security and immutability. “Other cloud storage services work fine, but they don't have the additional layers of security and user-friendly interface that Storj has,” Nikola says. “The way Storj encrypts, splits, and distributes files makes sure no third parties can access private data. The simplicity of how it takes care of security made Storj my first choice.”
Simple, Cost-Effective Pricing
The high fees that centralized cloud storage providers charge was another motivation for DriveX to look at what distributed networks and Storj could offer. With its predictable and transparent flat-fee pricing, Storj typically lowers storage and egress costs by 80% or more, not to mention it doesn’t charge extra for multi-region distribution. ”If I had stayed with Amazon, I would be paying a lot more,” Nikola says. “Storj’s price model is really cost-effective. You only pay for what you use. You don’t have extra costs. You don’t pay more for global distribution.”
Phenomenal Performance
When Nikola first learned about how Storj splits, distributes, and reconstitutes files, he worried that it would have a negative impact on performance. But he was pleasantly surprised when he learned about and experienced firsthand how the solution’s multi-parallelism actually boosted performance. “Not only is Storj extremely sophisticated and simple in terms of ease of use, but its performance is phenomenal,” Nikola says. “One of the main reasons people use DriveX is for large file transfers, and with Storj it doesn’t take long at all. I’ve been really impressed, especially with video files. Storj delivers absolutely fast performance.”

One of DriveX’s big frustrations with storage offerings from centralized cloud providers is their extreme complexity. “AWS is not intuitive,” Nikola says. “You have to spend hours learning what one thing does and how to interface with it. ”That’s another reason Storj was a refreshing change for DriveX. “Storj is really plug and play,” Nikola says. “Its simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. I could intuitively connect with all the features I needed. Its integration was seamless. The way Storj built their solution, they really took care of the back end. It’s not only extremely sophisticated, but it’s simple in terms of ease of use. ”Another factor in reducing overall complexity is simply how helpful and responsive Storj is as a company. “Storj not only has an amazing infrastructure, but it has an amazing team behind it,” Nikola says. “I see a bright future for Storj because they’re headed in the right direction.”
